We’re hiring a full-time School Occupational Therapist to support a district in Kitsap County, Washington for the 2025–2026 school year.
This is an exciting chance to provide school-based occupational therapy services that help students overcome physical, sensory, cognitive, and emotional challenges enabling them to fully engage in their education. You’ll work with students to develop essential classroom skills and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create meaningful change.
Position Details:
- Position: School Occupational Therapist
- Location: Bremerton, WA
- Schedule: Full-time, On-site
- Duration: September 2025 - June 2026
Responsibilities:
- Support the development of fine motor skills like handwriting, cutting, and tool use.
- Improve gross motor coordination, balance, and posture for classroom and physical activity participation.
- Promote independence in daily tasks such as dressing, eating, and toileting when applicable.
- Help students manage sensory processing challenges and implement strategies for focus and regulation.
- Adapt classroom tools and materials (e.g., seating, scissors, utensils) to support physical access and participation.
- Recommend and train students on assistive technology such as pencil grips or slant boards.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to implement accommodations and interventions.
- Conduct evaluations and contribute to IEPs and 504 planning.
- Monitor and document progress toward therapy goals.
Qualifications:
- Active Washington State Occupational Therapy license.
- Valid Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certificate.
- Prior school-based experience preferred
- Must be available for full-time, on-site services.
