What’s a typical day as an AutoCAD Drafter? You’ll be:
- Meeting with project managers, architects, designers, and engineers to discuss design ideas
- Developing product designs from scratch
- Presenting rough design drafts for client approval
- Ensuring product designs meet required safety and structural standards if applicable
- Generating Solid and Surface CAD models and drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit software
- Blending technique and aesthetics to create final designs
- Presenting various design perspectives for construction improvements and adaptations
- Finalizing AutoCAD models
- Utilizing a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex drawings
- Interpreting and ensuring conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures
- Understanding and utilizing more advanced software to complete assignments, if necessary
- Compiling data and performing dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings
- Committing to quality and continuous improvement through innovation, creative thinking, and improved results
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative and productive relationships with all team members
- Creating drawings with input from designers and engineers
- Incorporating red line changes in existing drawings, as directed by designers and engineers
- Assisting project team in meeting client expectations and schedules

- Have AutoCAD Drafting experience
- Possess advanced knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software
- Have knowledge of Mathematics, Science, Engineering, and Architecture
- Have excellent technical design skills
- Have good communication skills
- Have a keen eye for aesthetics and detail
- Have 3D modeling experience
- Pay attention to details and use drawing standards
- Have a College Degree or Trade/Vocational Degree or Certificate for Drafting and Design
- Have construction industry experience
