We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Scala Engineer with deep expertise in functional programming, Scala Typelevel libraries, and cloud-native backend development. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices on AWS, leveraging best practices in concurrency, performance tuning, and secure architecture.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain backend services using Scala , both object-oriented and functional programming paradigms.
Apply advanced functional programming concepts: category theory, monads, applicatives, type classes.
Develop applications using Scala Typelevel libraries like Cats, Shapeless, and other relevant tools.
Build and manage microservices architecture, handling multithreading and asynchronous processing.
Design, develop, and consume REST APIs for internal and external services.
Deploy and manage backend systems using AWS services and Docker .
Ensure performance tuning, error handling, logging, and secure coding practices.
Conduct thorough code reviews , write clean maintainable code, and mentor junior developers.
Participate in system design and architectural discussions , ensuring scalability, security, and compliance.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex backend systems.
10+ years of hands-on experience in Scala backend development .
6+ years of experience working with AWS and cloud-native deployments.
Strong experience with Docker containerization.
Expertise in Scala Typelevel libraries and advanced functional programming.
Proficiency in designing REST APIs and working with microservices.
Solid understanding of multithreading, asynchronous processing , and JVM ecosystem.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and code review capabilities.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines on AWS.
Experience in large-scale, high-concurrency distributed systems.
