Job Summary

The Cable Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing cable systems for residential and commercial customers. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair cable systems, including internet, television, and telephone services.
• Inspect and test cable systems to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to signal transmission, hardware, or connectivity.
• Handle cabling tasks, including splicing, terminating, and pulling cables.
• Provide clear guidance to customers on the proper use of installed systems.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and customer interactions.
• Adhere to safety standards and industry regulations at all times.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred (e.g., SCTE, BICSI).
• Proven experience as a cable technician or similar role.
• Strong understanding of cable systems, signal flow, and networking principles.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to [specific weight, e.g., 50 lbs].
• Comfortable working at heights, including ladders and utility poles.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
