Job Description: Under general supervision and according to specified procedures, the Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist performs routine laboratory activities including patient receiving, venipuncture, computer data entry, and other related clinical functions. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to established protocols to ensure accurate and efficient laboratory operations.

Duties:

1. Perform venipuncture and collect specimens from patients.
2. Accurately enter data into computer systems.
3. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace.
4. Follow specified procedures for specimen handling and processing.
5. Assist with other laboratory duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

1. 6 months to one year of experience in venipuncture.
2. Previous experience with computers preferred.
3. Valid, unrestricted Michigan Driver's license required for phlebotomists floating between clinics.

Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
2. Completion of Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomy training program preferred.

Certifications & Licenses:

1. Medical Assistant certification.
2. Phlebotomist certification or completion of Phlebotomy training.
