Need help applying? Call us at 541-746-6200! Daily Duties and Responsibilities for CNC Machinist Apprentice - Learn & Ensure that all safety practices are always being followed
- Assist in the setup and operation of CNC machines under the guidance of experienced machinists.
- Learn to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to understand machining requirements.
- Perform basic machine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubricating equipment.
- Utilize measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from standards and report issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and achieve production goals.
- Learn and apply machining techniques including drilling, milling, turning, and grinding.
- Adhere to quality control standards to ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in any offered training sessions and/or coursework to enhance technical skills and knowledge of CNC machining principles.
Skills and Qualifications for CNC Machinist Apprentice: - Must be able to read & use a tape measure
- Must have the ability to work a flexible Swing Shift schedule, down the line!
- Training will take place on Day Shift
- Upon Training Completion (which could take up to 6 months) , your schedule will switch to (1) of two different Swing Shift Schedules (listed below).
- You will be given advance notice, but must have a schedule that is flexible enough to accommodate either of the Swing Shift Schedules and switch between the two as needed, after training completion.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and over 50 lbs. with assistance (either Team-Lift or equipment assistance)
- Must be able to stand on your feet, on a hard surface, for the duration of your shift
- Must be safety conscious!
- Must possess a Basic understanding of mathematics and mechanical principles
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work are paramount!
- Must possess a strong work ethic, be a reliable person and employee who we can count on to be here, every day, onsite in Veneta, Oregon!
- Ability to follow instructions and apply learned principles
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills in CNC machining.
- Any Prior Experience with and/or Coursework completed involving Machining or Machine Operation is a BIG plus!
Job Details for CNC Machinist Apprentice: Temp-Hire
Training Schedule: Monday - Friday
7:00AM - 3:30PM
Training Schedule may last anywhere from several weeks to months
Work Schedule after Training: 10:30AM - 7:00PM
OR
1:30PM - 10:00PM
Must be available to work either shift, advanced notice will be provided of when either schedule is requested to be worked
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00/hour, DOE
