Job Description
Tesco Staffing in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our team in our fast-paced Mexican food station! You will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Mexican dishes using fresh ingredients, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met, and contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen environment.
10am to 6pm & 12pm to 6:30pm (M-Thurs.)
Responsibilities-
- Prepare a variety of Mexican dishes according to established recipes.
- Cook various ingredients using proper techniques, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following sanitation and safety protocols.
- Portion and assemble dishes accurately and efficiently to meet customer demand.
- Operate and maintain assigned kitchen equipment (e.g., flat top grill, fryer, steamer) following safety guidelines.
- Assist with restocking ingredients and maintaining inventory levels within the station.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and order completion.
Qualifications-
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in a Mexican cuisine setting.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures (HACCP preferred).
- Excellent knife skills and experience with various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Passion for Mexican cuisine and a desire to learn and grow.
