Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Type of Role: Contract

Schedule: Rotating Shift (Nights/Days) 12 hour rotating shift (2 on/2 off,

then 3 on/3 off; every other weekend off)

Education: Completed Bachelor's of Science Degree

Position Overview

Our team is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician I for a client in the Oil and Gas/Chemical industry.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties

• Support/assist the lab supervisors/chemists by performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis/wet chemistry on product and in-process samples, to support plant operations for the purpose of quality assurance/control.
• Perform calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
• Prepare samples and ensure accurate data generation and records, in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
• Utilize analytical instruments to address quality assurance/control issues.
• Prepare chemical stock solutions and reagents, as well as set preparation standards.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)

Education and Certifications: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Technical degree with a background in Chemical/Process/Technical Engineering

Experience:

• Five years of related experience, in lieu of degree
• Preferable experience in quality control systems.
