Library Director | River Grove Public Library District Posted on Jun 13, 2024 A unique administrative roll for a unique candidate: River Grove Public Library is a small community library with lots of charm and a fantastic team of employees. We are actively seeking an administrator to fill our Library Director vacancy. The best candidate for this job will be one who values the flexible nature of the position and the hands-on quality of the library’s needs. While our library budget is small, we are excited to be able to offer a full-time position that includes the ability to work remotely. This position allows for hands-on participation across departments while requiring a lighter load of administrative tasks, many of which will be handled by our knowledgeable team of vendors and support staff including: Payroll, Long Range Planning, Monthly Financial preparations, annual financial filing preparations, weekly staff schedules, IT services. Pre-established administrative support services will also be provided for the Director to use at their discretion. This is a great opportunity for a long-time manager looking to move into administration, an administrator who would benefit from a more flexible work schedule and work/life balance, or a tenured professional looking to downsize their commitment while staying active in the field. Requirements Preferred Qualifications: MLIS or Significant Experience in public libraries which must include a minimum of 3 years of management and a strong working knowledge of library district operations and budgetary oversight. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of management and a strong working knowledge of library district operations and budgetary oversight. Candidates with management experience in similarly situated local/municipal government organizations or non-profits are encouraged to apply.
