Title: Optical Transport Engineer- Annapolis Junction, MD (Hybrid)

What You'll Do:

• Engineer, plan, and implement transport solutions for macro, in-building, small cell, ODAS, CRAN, and 5G build-outs.
• Design CIQs (IP/Port assignments), cell growth, trunking, and circuit engineering.
• Order and manage circuits (Dark Fiber, TLS, EBH, EOS) via ASR and vendor coordination.
• Document and track circuits in XNG , Granite .
• Attend project meetings and manage milestones to support aggressive rollout timelines.
• Collaborate across engineering, provisioning, and vendor teams to ensure timely delivery.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Transport Network Engineering (macro-level minimum).
• Proven experience with IP addressing , path design , and circuit provisioning .
• Strong problem-solving , project management , and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
• Experience with telecom protocols , fiber design , and wireless network architecture .

Preferred Skills:

• Prior Verizon experience is a major plus.
• Experience with XNG , Granite , ASR ordering , TLS/EMUX/Dark Fiber/EOS .
• Understanding of 4G/5G wireless (3GPP, Option 3X), WDM , and CRAN/VRAN/MEC .
• Knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 , licensed/unlicensed microwave , and cell site backhaul .

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
