Introduce:

To meet the development needs of the national and southwestern aerospace industry, Chongqing University leveraged its strengths in engineering disciplines and established the College of Aerospace Engineering on December 26, 2013, based on its Mechanics discipline.

The mechanics discipline at Chongqing University dates back to the establishment of the Mechanics Teaching and Research Group in 1948. The Department of Engineering Mechanics was founded in 1959, and the undergraduate program in Engineering Mechanics began in 1978. The Solid Mechanics master s degree was authorized in 1981, and the doctoral degree in Solid Mechanics was authorized in 1986. In 2000, the Solid Mechanics discipline was designated a key discipline in Chongqing. In 2003, the first-level discipline doctoral degree in Mechanics was authorized, and the post-doctoral research station in Mechanics was established in 2004. In 2006, Mechanics was designated a key discipline in Chongqing. In 2012, the Chongqing Key Laboratory of Mechanics of Heterogeneous Materials was approved. The Master s degree in Aeronautical Engineering was authorized in 2014, and the undergraduate program in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering began in 2016. The master s degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Science and Technology was authorized in 2018. In 2019, the Engineering Mechanics program was selected as a first-class undergraduate program in Chongqing, and in 2020 it was selected as a national first-class program. That same year, the Deep Space Exploration Provincial-Ministerial Collaborative Innovation Center was approved. In 2022, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering was selected as a national first-class program.

The college has two first-level disciplines: Mechanics and Aeronautical and Astronautical Science and Technology. It offers undergraduate programs in Engineering Mechanics and Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. It has doctoral and master s degree programs in the first-level discipline of Mechanics, a master s degree program in Aeronautical and Astronautical Science and Technology, and master s degree programs in Mechanical and Energy Power Engineering. The school also houses the Deep Space Exploration Provincial-Ministerial Collaborative Innovation Center, the Chongqing Key Laboratory of Mechanics of Heterogeneous Materials, and a post-doctoral research station in Mechanics, forming research platforms that match the development of its two first-level disciplines.

The college boasts a strong and well-structured faculty team, with 80 staff members, including 62 full-time teachers, 20 professors, and 29 associate professors. Faculty members have received 53 national and provincial talent programs and awards. This has led to the formation of a well-structured research team led by national-level talents, supported by renowned domestic scholars and young key teachers.

The college is committed to serving the country s major strategic needs and socio-economic development, aiming at the forefront of international technological development. Building on its traditional strength in mechanics, it focuses on scientific and engineering issues in Mechanics and Aerospace fields. It has achieved a series of original research results in areas such as material mechanics behavior under extreme environments, complex system mechanics simulation, complex structure wave dynamics theory and non-destructive testing, advanced composite materials for aerospace, and advanced aircraft design. In recent years, the college has hosted one major National Natural Science Foundation instrument project, four key projects, two joint key projects, three key R&D projects from the Ministry of Science and Technology, and one high-tech ship project from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. For two consecutive years, the research funding has exceeded 100 million yuan.

• Pre-tax annual salary of RMB 800,000, with additional performance-based rewards;

• Appointment as a professor, with the qualification to supervise doctoral students;

Hongshen Young Teacher

Application Requirements: Candidates should be doctoral graduates from other universities who possess an excellent academic background and achievements, have produced high-quality research outcomes, and demonstrate significant potential for innovative development.

Benefits:

• For the first 3 years, the pre-tax salary of RMB 250,000/year, with additional performance-based rewards. After passing the mid-term assessment, performance-based salary will be implemented according to the professional position standards.



• Relocation allowance of RMB 200,000;



• Research start-up funds of RMB 100,000 for science, engineering, and medical sciences, and RMB 50,000 for humanities and social sciences;



• During the appointment period, if the candidates are selected for the national postdoctoral innovative talent support plan, salary will be increased during the funding period.



• Hongshen Young Teachers can independently choose to enter the postdoctoral mobile station. If they enter the postdoctoral mobile station and stay in Chongqing for work after completing the postdoctoral period, an additional subsidy of RMB 150,000 will be provided by the Chongqing municipal government.
