Job Description
A leading client in the real estate sector is seeking a mid-to-senior level attorney to join their dynamic Real Estate Team in Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional to work on sophisticated real estate matters in a collaborative environment. A defined promotional path and mentorship from senior leadership, will be offered from the start. The role sits in a hybrid (2 days in office) structure in Chicago.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent national and regional real estate owners, developers, and investors in a broad range of transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, and construction.
- Advise institutional and private lenders on construction and acquisition financing, as well as other real estate-related matters.
- Take an active role in drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, lease documents, loan agreements, development contracts, and closing documentation.
- Manage complex transactions from inception through closing with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and third parties to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in commercial real estate law, ideally with previous law firm experience.
- Demonstrated experience handling real estate transactions, including leasing, financing, development, and construction.
- Strong understanding of real estate finance and lending practices.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Admission to the Illinois Bar is required or ability to gain through waiving in.
- Graduated with a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
