We are currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a contract this school year in Lake County, IL
Details You Should Know:
- Location: In-person (no virtual or hybrid option)
- Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 32.5 hours
- Start Date: January 2025
- End Date: End of the 2025 school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt general education lessons to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Provide instruction in a variety of settings, including small group and one-on-one instruction.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure students’ needs are met.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed.
- Manage classroom behavior and provide a positive, supportive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress with parents and school administrators.
- Attend and participate in meetings related to students' education, including IEP meetings.
Qualifications :
- Valid Illinois State Teaching License with Special Education endorsement (PEL required), or LBS1 endorsement
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
