Job Summary:
Our Charter School is seeking a dedicated and credentialed Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate) for the elementary level. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with mild to moderate disabilities, ensuring an inclusive and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and parents.
- Provide differentiated instruction tailored to meet students' diverse learning needs.
- Work closely with general education teachers to support students in both inclusive and pull-out settings.
- Assess students' academic and behavioral progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that promotes students’ social-emotional growth and independence.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to improve student learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and federal special education regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams regarding student progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
- California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential (Required).
- Experience working with elementary-age students in a special education setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, accommodations, and behavioral interventions.
- Effective classroom management and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
