Job Summary We are looking for a dedicated and caring Kennel Attendant. Kennel Attendants take care of the everyday needs of our patients in the hospital. The Kennel Attendant must enjoy working with animals and have a genuine compassion for their care and comfort. This position also has a strong emphasis on cleaning in addition to pet care. An ideal candidate will view this as an entry-level position in a busy veterinary hospital and has a desire for professional growth.
Job responsibilities Provide passionate care to patients and always look out for their safety
Bath, brush, and trim nails on dogs and cats
Record and report important information about patient conditions
Clean all patient cages, treatment and kennel areas daily
Safely and securely walk patients in our fenced outdoor area
When needed, assist in timely cleaning of exam rooms in preparation for the next client/patient
Perform inventory and restocking
Perform closing checklists
Qualifications and Skills Attention to detail
Ability to multitask and take initiative
Ability to work in stressful situations while making sound decisions
Excellent Customer service skills
Excellent prioritization and efficiency
Must be able to lift patients up to 40 pounds alone, and patients over 50 pounds with assistance
