Job Title: Waste Treatment Plant Operator
Position Summary:
The Waste Treatment Plant Operator operates a membrane filtration Waste Water Treatment plant, contributing to the mission of saving and sustaining lives.
Essential Job Duties:
- Collect and test water samples for state reporting requirements.
- Monitor and adjust process parameters for maintaining water quality.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment and SCADA system.
- Remove waste solids and adjust pump rates for flow and chemical dosing.
- Oversee chemical deliveries and inventory.
- Operate centrifuge equipment for bio-solids dewatering.
- Conduct inspections, maintain cleanliness, and follow safety and quality protocols.
- Document information and communicate any issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to safety standards, quality procedures, and written instructions.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Recent graduates of Biology or Chemistry
- Must obtain North Carolina Grade 1 Biological Operator's license.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic understanding of chemistry and algebra.
- Basic English communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:
- State of North Carolina Grade I Wastewater Treatment Operator's license.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk continuously.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Pass physical exam.
- Normal vision with color distinction.
- Ability to squat, crawl, reach, kneel, twist, bend, and balance.
- Extensive walking and occasional ladder climbing.
